Friends of South-East Queensland
The Friends of South-East Queensland meet once a month at the EcoCentre.
The founding principles of this organisation are:
- Respect and care for community life and lifestyles in South East Queesnland
- Respect and care for ecological integrity and the natural systems on which our healthy life depends
- Social and economic justice with transparency
- Democracy where individuals have a voice and conflicts are seen to be resolved through informed decisions
What do FOSEQ do?
- Share research, ideas, news and inform our citizens
- Appreciate our culture and identity in order to preserve it
- Facilitate development of community policy from analysis
- Evaluate sustainability (27 standard performance indicators)
- Facilitate a watchdog role on government decisions
- Facilitate third party actions on behalf of disadvantaged citizens
