The Friends of South-East Queensland meet once a month at the EcoCentre.

The founding principles of this organisation are:

  1. Respect and care for community life and lifestyles in South East Queesnland
  2. Respect and care for ecological integrity and the natural systems on which our healthy life depends
  3. Social and economic justice with transparency
  4. Democracy where individuals have a voice and conflicts are seen to be resolved through informed decisions

What do FOSEQ do?

  • Share research, ideas, news and inform our citizens
  • Appreciate our culture and identity in order to preserve it
  • Facilitate development of community policy from analysis
  • Evaluate sustainability (27 standard performance indicators)
  • Facilitate a watchdog role on government decisions
  • Facilitate third party actions on behalf of disadvantaged citizens
