Phylogenetics of a freshwater beetle (Sclerocyphon) from Eastern Australia
Description
An investigation into the phylogenetic relationships between and within Australia’s freshwater beetle commonly known as waterpennies. I will look at how many ‘species’ are found within Australia and their current distribution. Also, I will look within one species of waterpenny from south-east Queensland to try to evaluate their dispersal ability both as an aquatic larva and flying adult terrestrial beetle using microsatellites.
