Research Expertise

Sustainable Development: Research and publication on sustainability focuses on community and social development integrating economic objectives with social and environmental justice. Research, in this area, includes studies of industry and community relationships in Europe (Switzerland), Asia (Thailand) and Australia. In all of these cases, local community relationships by international cement and agribusiness corporations illustrate the significance of local relationships for both community development and company access to resources needed for production and securing long-term economic stability.

Social and environmental impact assessment, risk analyses: Research and publications in social assessment concentrates on the impacts of  corporate economic investment in rural communities. Research concentrates on the mining industry and the impacts of its exploration for mineral resources and production on local communities, particularly low local concerns about social and environmental impacts of exploration and production affect local incomes, employment and living quality.  Research includes assessment of large-scale development by international consortiums in Australia's Northern Territory and Queensland.
