Research interests
My research interests are in the use and application of quantitative methods and modelling to environmental problems. Areas of application include:
- Modelling a variety of environmental fields including
- Tsunamis
- Tidal inflows and outflows
- Soil water infiltration and transport of chemicals by soil water
- Chemical properties of the environment
- Sensitivity analysis of models, and its application to computation models. Recent work has been applied to models of
- Oil refineries
- Break-up and emission of catalyst particles
- Tsunami warning potential and the optimal location of detectors
- Hydrological models for water transport and deposition of soil particles
