Learn in the fast lane
Can't wait to start your IT career? At Griffith University you can now complete your degree in as little as two years with the Accelerated Bachelor of Information Technology.
Courses are offered over three semesters each year with Semester 1 and 2 courses at your choice of Griffith's Nathan or Gold Coast campuses combined with intensive Semester 3 (summer semester) courses at Griffith's Logan campus.
Either way, you'll also have the opportunity to gain practical, accredited work experience on real-life projects for industry clients through Griffith's unique Industrial Affiliates Program.
Head of School Dr Michael Blumenstein said flexible degree options were proving popular with students and potential employers.
"For example these days students who don't want to choose between getting a degree or getting a paid job can take advantage of the Bachelor of IT @ Work in which students complete a foundation year on campus, before starting a full-time paid job in the IT industry."
They then complete their degree during intensive summer semesters on Logan campus.
"Industry partners recognise BIT @ Work students are still studying, so release them for 45 days each year to complete their intensive summer semester. This illustrates how keen businesses are to get top IT students on board straight away."
He said majors in the new degree had also been selected to provide students with maximum career flexibility.
"They have also been developed in consultation with our industry partners panel to meet the areas tipped to experience the biggest jobs growth around the world in the next 10-20 years."
Options include Games Programming, Multimedia, Systems Development and IT, Informatics, Information Systems, Networking Security, Computing and Intelligent Systems IT Management and Marketing.
