BIT at Work students are provided with assistance in seeking full-time IT employment. Most of the students are working full-time in the IT industry after one year of study while pursing their degree part-time. The number of organisations interested in employing our students is increasing each year. Testimonials from industry show that our students are well received in the IT industry.

"I have been greatly impressed with the Griffith BIT at Work program and students; one day all programs will be done this way. It’s a benefit to the business to have access to enthusiastic entrance level IT staff with 1 year of basic IT training. It’s fantastic for the students to actually get paid whilst they are completing their university degree. It’s also a fast way to learn, I feel students learn more in 2 months of full time on the job training than they do in a year at university. By the end of the course, students have an impressive CV with a good grounding in theory backed up by plenty of practical experience”.

"We are delighted with how quickly our student 'came up to speed as a business analyst'; within a month she was configuring client sites, manning exhibition/trade show stands, providing product suggestions to the development team, enhancing our implementation tools and templates, and designing improved e-training material, as well as holding her own in discussions with clients and identifying their needs.
We provide critical software to the aged care industry and in our instance our BIT at Work student arrived with the right skill mix and very importantly an excellent attitude to work and motivation to learn and continuously improve. I am already wondering how we survived without her."

- the range of students recommended was adequate without being overwhelming in number; and those we interviewed were well prepared;
- the business benefits of employing our chosen student have already surpassed our expectations!”
- the Griffith support staff are responsive and helpful.”

“We have been involved with Griffith University work placements for students since 2000. The experience has always been a valuable one for us and the BIT at Work program is no exception. The increased hours that a BIT at Work student can commit to the commercial environment is extremely valuable to both parties. The business gets a work ready employee in a very short period of time and the student's skill set increases rapidly. Everyone's a winner! I would have no hesitation in recommending this program to any IT business owner wanting to get ahead.”
