Griffith University's Griffith School of Engineering's Industry Placement activity is implemented through the Work Integrated Learning program
Work Integrated Learning
Griffith's Griffith School of Engineering's undergraduate degrees give students the ability to gain practical experience in the workplace whilst studying through Work Integrated Learning.
Griffith University requires that 70% of all Griffith programs include an identifiable work-integrated learning component by 2010. The Griffith School of Engineering continues to build its Work Integrated Learning component through the Industry Affiliates Program.
The Industry Affiliates Program is a Work Integrated Learning Program designed to integrate final year students into the workplace through the completion of an industry based project.
Students in their final year of study in Environmental Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Microelectronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Civil Engineering (along with Information Technology and Multimedia, Science and Photonics and Nanoscience) are eligible to enrol in the Industry Affiliates Program.
The Industry Affiliates Program structure ensures students develop 'work-ready skills', and enhance their understanding of the industry context during the experience.
