Research expertise
Dr Herat has active research interests in waste management and cleaner production with special emphasis on managing electronic wastes (e-Waste). He is researching on world best practice in technology and policy in this area. In addition Dr Herat has research expertise in implementing cleaner production practices in small to medium scale industries and waste management in general in developing countries.

Dr Herat is also the Program Convenor of Master of Environmental Engineering and Graduate Certificate in Waste Management, both postgraduate degrees.
