Research Expertise

Dr van Staden has research interests in the application of the Finite Element Method (FEM) to both pavement deterioration and dental implant research. Much of his research focuses on developing modelling techniques to evaluate the impacts of changes in moisture and temperature, due to climate change, on rigid and flexible pavement deterioration. The centrepiece of his research has been an ongoing study of the stress characteristics within the human jawbone during and after dental implantation.

Current internal funded research project

Griffith University Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Scheme, (GUPRF). 2010-2013
