The Griffith School of Engineering Advisory Board serves as a channel for external input to the School, which helps to enhance its academic activities, and provide a conduit to the professional community.
The deliberations of the Advisory Board is centred on issues which assist the School to continuously improve its performance in all areas of activities: teaching, research, professional and community service.
Functions
The Boards specific functions are to:
- Help further strengthen the links between the School and industry and the profession and review the initiatives of the Board to forge strong links and communication between industry and academic staff.
- Advise the School on possible new trends in all practical and societal aspects of the profession.
- Review progress and new initiatives of the School.
- Help benchmark the Schools activities and performance.
- Provide advice regarding intended graduate outcomes.
- Review alignment of the Schools outcomes with professional outcomes.
Membership
The Chair of the Board is elected by the Board from amongst the external members and is formally appointed by the Pro Vice Chancellor (SEE&T).
- Members of the Board are appointed by the Pro Vice Chancellor (SEE&T) on the advice of the Head of School.
- Members are appointed for the contribution they are able to make as a result of their experience and expertise in the relevant disciplines of engineering.
- The term of appointment is two years, and renewable.
- The Head of School and PVC or nominee are ex-officio members of the Board.
- Other senior School academics may be co-opted.
Meetings
The School Advisory Board meets at least twice per calendar year.Members
