If you're building the future, Griffith is the strongest foundation. Gain practical experience in the workplace whilst studying through Work Integrated Learning, a program designed to integrate final year students into the workplace through the completion of an industry based project (Industry Affiliates Program).
Griffith University's engineering program recognises that you may not yet have fully decided on which engineering discipline your career will be based. First-year studies are therefore designed to provide a balance between the ability to specialise, which is important for those who have chosen a discipline, and the ability to delay choosing, for those who have not yet decided.
In the first semester of your first year, you will be introduced to all the engineering disciplines that Griffith offers. You can undertake some specialist studies in your nominated discipline. At the end of the first semester you can choose between two strands for second semester. One strand prepares you for either civil or environmental engineering studies, the other prepares you for either electronic and computer engineering or software engineering studies. You will be required to make your final choice of discipline at the end of your first year.
