The Centre is supported by such facilities as an anechoic chamber for antenna measurements, a field station for remove monitoring, an 8 camera Vicom system for human movement detection and analysis, an ultrasound system capable of dynamically monitoring muscle fibre changes, and a wide variety of microcontroller platforms for micro-sensor systems.
The staff have expertise in engineering and human movement analysis. This expertise includes VLSI design, electronic design, sensor design, through to the mass production of circuits and systems.
Recent chip-level sensor technologies developed in the Centre include planar wind speed and direction, soil moisture, acceleration, humidity, and temperature.
