The Centre has a major interest in antenna design for sensor and RFID applications. The use of optimisation techniques through collaborations with Bond University and Research Computing at Griffith University has allowed three dimensional antenna designs to be developed which have good efficiency and immunity to environmental effects.
Associate Professor Junwei Lu has an ARC funded research project aimed at developing electromagnetic compatibility solutions for electronic system design based around large integrated circuits.
Associate Professor Steven O?Keefe has strong links with the antenna company Antenova and has been heavily involved in multiband antenna design for mobile communications. Professor David Thiel has established a reputation in the field of switched parasitic antennas as a low cost option to smart antennas.
Professor Thiel has developed radiation safety awareness training courses for staff working at high powered transmitter training facilities.
