    • Dr. David Rowlands will give an invited talk on "P-Wave Analysis and Classification" at the 36th Annual International Society of Computerized Electrocardiology [ISCE] conference in San Jose, California in April 2011
    • Jono Neville (PhD candidate) won an international Sports Engineering Award for his work on monitoring the soccer throw-in
    • Amin Ahmadi (PhD candidate), Dr Dan James and Dr David Rowland's latest paper on the tennis serve was highlighted as a feature in New Scientist. Follow up stories have appeared on the ABC television and radio
    • Professor David Thiel has won an International Fellowship to visit Copenhagen. He   has received $15,000 for his aquatic accelerometer research in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen and the Centre of Excellence at the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS)
    • Tristan McNab (PhD candidate) and Dr David Rowlands have won Apple grants to attend Australian Apple events and the world wide Apple Developer Conference in June based on the use of i-phones in sport
    • Dr Daniel James and Dr Andrew Wixted are invited speakers at the Cricket Sports Science conference in June
    • The CWMA is hosting international interns: Nicolas Pieropan (France) working on force plate measurements, Steven Perhirin (France) working on antenna design, and Farina Lino (Italy) working on wireless networking for sports applications
