An explanatory mixed method research approach has been presented as the most applicable framework to address the research objectives. This approach includes a mix of quantitative and qualitative research techniques and associated data analysis tools to extract the necessary results to address research questions and hypotheses.
To achieve research objectives, quantitative end use and questionnaire survey data will be collected and analysed to determine patterns, relationships, gaps and anomalies. Qualitative interview methods will then be applied to confirm empirical relationships uncovered during quantitative analysis.
A brief description of the key research tasks are detailed below.
- Task 1: Literature Review and Evaluation of Existing Data
- Task 2: Develop Project Plan
- Task 3: Procurement of Project Equipment
- Task 3: Obtaining Consenting Participant Group
- Task 4: Meter Deployment and Data Collection
- Task 5: Water Audit and Questionnaire Survey
- Task 6: Analysis of End Use Data, Water Audits and Questionnaire Surveys
- Task 7: Discussion, Conclusions and Recommendations
- Task 8: Study Implications
