Industrial Technology and Design
This area focuses on the teaching of secondary school Industrial Technology and Design and Graphics (often referred to as Manual Arts). This exciting practically based area of the curriculum encompasses studies associated with wood, metal and plastics processing, computer aided design (CAD), computer aided manufacture (CAM), electronics, control systems, engineering and a range of graphics applications such as production, built environment and business graphics.
This is an area of great employment demand. Study scholarships may be available through the Department of Education and Training to support some of your studies. A number of different teacher education options are available for the prospective ITD teacher.
