The Griffith Institute for Higher Education provides postgraduate coursework and research programs focussed on learning and teaching theory and practice in the context of higher education. Programs are open to any person currently teaching in a higher education institution or working in administrative, technical or academic support work that includes a teaching role and have qualifications commensurate with their professional role.
Coursework programs focus on effective learning and teaching practice and course and program design, based on sound knowledge of research into student learning in higher education. Research programs focus on new knowledge of the impacts of teaching practice or course design on student learning; the impacts of university experiences on student outcomes; and the relationships between teaching, course and program design, student characteristics, and learning outcomes. Research students are encouraged to investigate areas of particular personal interest.
