Sydney Alumni Event
Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O'Connor invited Griffith University Alumni, Students and Friends to attend a cocktail and networking evening on Tuesday 29 October. Alumni enjoyed establishing new connections and build upon existing relationships whilst at the Union, University & Schools Club Sydney.

Get Connected with Griffith University in Seoul
Griffith University Alumni, Students and Friends came together for a cocktail and networking evening, hosted by Pro Vice Chancellor, Griffith Business School, Professor Michael Powell on Friday 27 September.
The event provided a great opportunity to meet graduates of Griffith University who are now residing in Korea as well as current students, industry partners and Griffith Staff.
Hong Kong - Alumni Networking and Cocktail Event
Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O'Connor invited Griffith Alumni to attend an alumni networking event. Over 70 guests attended to learn about the latest developments at the University and to network with like-minded professionals.
Beijing - Alumni Networking and Cocktail Event
Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O'Connor enjoyed hosting an alumni networking event at China World Hotel, Beijing on Tuesday 10 September.
The event was attended by over 50 people including Griffith staff, alumni and guests, each was excited to learn about the latest developments at the University and network with like-minded professionals.
Toronto - Celebration Graduates and Alumni
Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O'Connor was delighted to host an alumni event following the Toronto Graduation ceremony on Saturday 7 September 2013.
The event took place at Daniels Spectrum and included celebrating new graduates, their guests and alumni.
This event was an excellent opportunity to welcome Griffith's new graduates to our alumni and explain the importance of ‘staying connected’.
Gold Coast Airport Marathon
Regarded as one of Australia’s premier sporting events, the Gold Coast Airport Marathon attracts more than 25,000 participants of all ages and abilities from Queensland, interstate and overseas.
On Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July 2013 the Griffith team, 519 people strong, participated in the 34th Gold Coast Marathon. Together we won the Corporate Teams Challenge; Largest Team and Corporate Teams Challenge most kilometres travelled - 9414.83km.
It was a great weekend and we are looking forward creating another 'sea of Griffith red' in 2014!
Jakarata, Indonesia - Alumni Networking Event
On Thursday 13 June 2013, Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O'Connor was delighted to host the University’s first ever alumni event in Indonesia. The reunion took place at The Four Seasons Hotel in Jakarta and brought together a diverse and impressive group of Griffith graduates. The event provided an exciting opportunity for Alumni to network with Griffith staff and each other.
Shanghai, China - Cocktail Party and Networking Event
On Saturday 16 March, Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O'Connor hosted over 40 Alumni at the networking event held in China. The Alumni learnt about the latest developments at your University, whilst networking with like-minded professionals. One of lucky Almuni even won an iPad.

Griffith Alumni 40th Anniversary Celebrations in Beijing and Guangzhou
In May, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Provost Professor Marilyn McMeniman AM hosted two Griffith Alumni cocktail receptions in China to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries. Over 200 Griffith alumni attended the events in Beijing and Guangzhou and made the most of the chance to network with fellow graduates and Griffith staff. In Beijing, we were honoured to hear Griffith Alumnus and former President of BHP Billiton China, Mr Clinton Dines, address the audience.
In September, Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O'Connor will travel to China to host a second Griffith Alumni event and also to announce the winners of the Alumnus of the Decade competition. Melbourne Alumni Network Reunion
On Thursday 10th May, Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O'Connor hosted a reunion for our alumni living and working in Melbourne. Once again, attendance was outstanding and the opportunity to hear from and meet the Vice Chancellor embraced by all in attendance. Feedback was so positive, we have already begun planning a future alumni event.
