Mentoring
The Industry Mentoring Program aims to support the transition of students into the workplace and to involve industry professionals in a mutually beneficial partnership.
Over the years, Griffith alumni have been working in collaboration with the Program to assist students (mentees) to clarify their career objectives, expand their insights, knowledge and overall perspective of their careers. This Program, which operates across second semester, matches both undergraduate (excluding first years) and postgraduate students from a range of disciplines with professionals in the same career field.
The benefits for mentors include personal satisfaction from being able to guide and support future members of their profession and share their professional expertise, while maintaining valuable links with Griffith University
A briefing session is offered before the program commences. As a guide, mentors typically have around four years experience in their field.
The Industry Mentoring Program runs officially from August to October. The aim is to be in touch at least once a week in order to keep the momentum of the mentoring relationship going.
