Griffith's School of Criminology and Criminal Justice enjoys a national and international reputation as arguably Australia's leading criminology teaching and research centre. Our undergraduate criminology and criminal justice degree is the only one in Queensland backed by 'at world-standard' research. That knowledge feeds into the most up-to-date study content, giving you the best skills for an employment edge.

Cutting edge research

Crime, crime prevention and law enforcement change rapidly. But our researchers work fast. You'll be studying up-to-date knowledge based on their cutting edge work undertaken in collaboration with criminal justice professionals from around the world.

Teaching expertise

You'll learn from world-class lecturers and have the opportunity to share classes with students from all over the world. Why? We enjoy a reputation amongst academic and professional circles as a leading criminology school. We attract the world's best.

Gain hands-on experience while you study

Justice-related experiences and contacts give our students hands-on learning opportunities that relate theory and real life. Our networks give you a headstart in your career.

Criminology Student Society
Our Criminology Student Society members participate in organised visits to criminal justice agencies, network with academic staff and international School visitors, and enjoy social events.
Student Mentoring Program
New students are matched with advanced level peers who answer questions, provide guidance and support new students transitioning to university. Senior students who volunteer as mentors are trained and receive a certificate for their resumes.
Careers evening
Students get to hear from and meet staff from employer agencies and find out what they look for in graduates.
Meet the professionals
Hear from our graduates about how they made the leap from University to work, and find out their tips for success.
Developing Professionally
Take this course to find out about the range of criminal justice careers, and learn key skills and strategies for meeting your career goals.
Professional Practice
To gain insight into a criminal justice profession, enrol in our Professional Practice course and work in an agency matched to your interests. Our industry partners include agencies in policing, education, communities, health, justice, security, youth and Indigenous affairs and corrections. You will work on real projects for one day a week over a semester and develop skills and experience you can highlight in your resume.
