IT Student does that BIT extra for dream job
Bachelor of IT student Natasha Hurst is getting paid to work at her dream job with leading software company, Thoughtware.
Natasha wanted a degree that made her "job ready".
"I love putting the skills learn at Griffith into practice in my job with Thoughtware. It has really given me a grasp of what it is like in a work environment" she said.
"I chose to study at Griffith after completing my Diploma in Multimedia at Logan TAFE. I felt the Bachelor of IT@Work Scheme was a fantastic opportunity to not only walk away with a degree but with a whole lot of work experience and knowledge under my belt".
"I am really enjoying my time at Thoughtware. I have already worked across a range of activities such as tradeshows, configuring and implementing new software, branding and marketing. This first hand knowledge is invaluable - it shows you what life will be life after uni has confirmed to me this is the industry I want to be in" Natasha said.
A BIT@Work degree sees students complete a foundation year at uni, then enter paid full time work with a leading IT company while completing your degree through intensive on-campus summer semesters and online courses.
BIT@Work, will help you not only be prepared for work but will assist you in arranging job interviews. In your first year of study, you will meet industry people, be assisted in developing your resume and covering letter and given assistance with interview skills.
Since BIT@Work began, 92% of eligible students have successfully secured full time employment during their studies.
