Welcome to the 2010 Volda University College Australasian Study Tour!
We look forward to welcoming you to Griffith University at your orientation on Thursday, September 2.
This years’ program has lots of exciting highlights including a 10 day trip to Bourke where you’ll visit sheep stations and have guided tours through the Gundabooka National Park as well as visiting our Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Back at University you’ll be doing a total of 33 contact hours with academics covering many different topics. Also included in this schedule is a day trip to Stradbroke Island where you’ll be taught by the traditional land owner’s how to throw a boomerang as well as get involved in a dance and didgeridoo workshop.
We’ve also booked a night at Marcoola up at the Sunshine Beach, to break up your lecture weeks. Which we’re sure you’ll be able to relax, unwind and enjoy yourselves.
Following your lecture weeks will be 3 weeks dedicated to your research. You will then attend a small graduation and farewell lunch and then it’s off to Japan!
After 11 days in Japan you’ll fly into Cairns where you’ll enjoy a further 5 days taking in all that the top of Queensland has to offer.
We hope that you will enjoy your upcoming program and gain first-hand experience of the Australasian culture.
