Professor Chris Guilding
Chris works with Griffith University's Department of Tourism, Leisure, Hotel and Sport Management. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has taught accounting and finance in universities in England, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia. While at the University of Auckland he won a teaching award in 1995. Chris has more than 40 publications and papers in a range of top tier academic journals. In recent years, he has developed a specific interest in accounting for tourism and hospitality issues. In 2009 the second edition of his book 'Accounting Essentials for Hospitality Decision Makers' was published by Butterworth-Heinemann. Chris has acted as chairperson for the first two 'Strata and Community Title in Australia for the 21st Century' conferences in 2005 and 2007. His academic papers on strata title management have appeared in the following journals: Pacific Rim Property Research Journal (2008), International Journal of Hospitality Management (2007 and 2008), Australian Property Law Journal (2006), Tourism Management (2005), and The Queensland Lawyer (2004). He has raised around $200,000 of funding for research into strata title issues.

Mr Francesco Andreone
Francesco Andreone is an expert lawyer in the fields of strata, body corporate and community title laws. Specialising in these fields since 1989, the work he has undertaken covers all aspects of this industry sector including advice to schemes on management procedures, internal and external disputes, scheme and management document restructuring, legislative interpretation, construction defect claims and litigation, development consultancy and implementation work. Francesco has conducted many of the leading cases in strata and community title law. In 1997 he was engaged by the NSW Department of Fair Trading to write the model sets of by-laws for the (then) new strata title laws. In 2007 his firm was engaged by Consumer Affairs Victoria to write the Owners Guide and the Fact Sheets for new Victorian Laws; he was engaged by Butterworths to write the chapters on community title subdivision for Halsburys Laws of Australia and he is a co-author of Thompson Legal’s NSW Practical Forms and Precedents for NSW. He is a regular speaker at industry, association and legal seminars on the law, practice and future of the strata and community title industry and participates in a variety of consultative committees. Francesco is the founder and managing director of Andreones, Lawyers who are an innovative and leading legal services provider in the specialised areas of strata, community and property law. He is also a fellow and the president of the Australian College of Community Association Lawyers, a member of a number of NSW Institute of Strata Title Management Limited Sub Committees and a member of the NSW Urban Development Institute’s Strata & Community Title Development Sub Committee. His qualifications include degrees in both Law and Jurisprudence, Certificate IV in Training qualifications and de Bono Institute qualifications.

Mr Peter Berry
Peter recently completed a 40-year career with NSW Government agencies mainly in the fair trading, consumer protection, strata schemes and tenancy areas. A substantial period of Peter’s working life was spent in the policy and legislative developments in the strata schemes management area. He was closely involved in major reforms to the NSW strata laws during the 1990s and early 2000s. He has had wide experience in consulting with Australian regulators, unit owners, strata managers, lawyers, developers, the real estate industry and others connected to strata and community schemes issues and in administration of the State’s strata laws. Peter was part of the planning committee for the first 2 Griffith University strata conferences in 2005 and 2007. He received the Public Service medal in the 2007 Australia Day awards for his work in the strata and residential park policy and strategy areas.

Dr Gary Bugden
Gary Bugden's name has been associated with strata titles since 1973. In the past 30 years he has actively participated in all sectors of the industry - as a strata manager, specialist lawyer, academic, development consultant, government consultant, author, commentator and law reformer. The breadth and depth of this experience has resulted in him being described as Australia's leading authority on strata titles. Most of Gary's legal career was as a partner in national law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques, initially in Sydney and later in Brisbane. He practised extensively in structured land titles and common interest subdivisions throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. He undertook projects for the World Bank in Vietnam and Cambodia and was external consultant to the Vietnamese Government on its 1994 land law reforms. Following extensive overseas travel and research in the early 1980's, he pioneered air space development in Australia and was the driving force behind the introduction of community titles to this country. He was the external consultant to the Queensland Government on the 1997 community titles legislation. That legislation was innovative in its departure from a generic regulatory approach to a more project specific approach. Gary has authored 3 loose-leaf services, a loose-leaf book and 3 other books on strata and community title management. He was a part time lecturer in strata titles at a Sydney Law School for some 9 years, served as National Editor of the Australian Property Law Bulletin for many years and has presented well over 200 papers at conferences and seminars both in Australia and overseas. He retired from legal practice 5 years ago but has maintained his involvement in the industry through his writings, speaking engagements and strata related company directorships.
Ms Anna Edwards
Anna is the director of Adelaide Strata and Community Management, a company providing strata/community mangement services in South Australia for 14 years, she is also a founding member of the National Community Titles Institute, Past National President and current National Education Co-ordinator. As a passionate and committed advocate of the Industry in Australia, Anna has been instrumental in the creation of a competency based training program which will not only be delivered Austalia wide but also used as a platform for the harmonisation of regulation.

Mr John Hood
John is an independent strata title hotel/resort management consultant and has been involved in the management of Strata Titled Hotels, Resorts and Serviced Apartments for over 30 years. During this time he has been a Director of a major management company managing strata titled serviced apartment hotels and apartment properties in resorts on the Gold Coast, interstate and overseas. He has been a consultant for the past 15 years to major hotel management companies, strata management companies, owners and developers. John has also taken an active role in the Strata and Community Title Industry, serving on Industry Committees, and more recently with Griffith University's Service Research Industry Centre promoting research and dialogue between all stakeholders in the Industry and Government.

Dr Jan Warnken
Jan is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Environmental and Applied Sciences at Griffith University and is also Program Convenor for the BSc in Ecotourism. His PhD examined the quality of EIA for Australian tourism developments (mostly strata-titled). He has produced more than 50 publications in the area of impact assessment and management of nature-based tourism and has compiled two reports for the Gold Coast Visioning project (Hinterland natural assets audit and Infrastructure audit). Dr Warnken has worked as a consultant for the European Union, major tourism developers and an environmental engineering firm in Germany and has lived at, and/or traveled to, many destinations in the US, Europe, Arabian Penninsula, Russia, Japan and of course Australia/New Zealand. His current research activities focus on planning and legal issues of strata-title complexes in the context of environmental and destination management.
