Michael is responsible for the national development of policy positions and the management of a number of education and training projects within the Australian Industry Group. Policy advice for the Ai Group has been provided in an extensive range of areas including apprenticeship and traineeship policy, school – industry partnerships, the mature age workforce, skilling for the existing workforce, skills shortages and industry – training provider relationships. Project management contributions have included World Class Skills for World Class Industries, the Skilling the Existing Workforce Project and 2009 Skilling Intentions Survey and the National Workforce Literacy Project.
Michael is a frequent speaker and presenter at conferences. Previously he was the Manager of Youth Transition within the Australian National Training Authority with major responsibilities for VET in Schools programs, School Based Apprenticeships, Youth Development initiatives and the broad Transition from School area. Prior to this Michael was the Statewide Manager of Vocational Education in Schools with the Victorian Department of Education, and Training with a wide range of responsibilities related to the development and implementation of vocational education programs in schools.
