November 27-29, 2006 - Brisbane Australia
Conference Announcement

You are invited to participate in the third International Conference on Qualitative Research in IT & IT in Qualitative Research (QualIT), which will be held at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia on November 27-29, 2006.

Please visit the QualIT 2006 website for full details and the most up-to-date information about QualIT2006.

Call For Papers

QualIT2006 - Quality and Impact of Qualitative Research invites researchers to submit papers addressing methodological challenges in qualitative research, as well as the quality of resesarch and impact of research within their disciplinary domain. These challenges may have resulted from technology adoption such as the use of software tools, involvement in research team environments, employing innovative design techniques, shaping cultural interactions, information visualisation processes, but are not limited to these themes.

Consistent with the twinned themes of QualIT's continued focus on qualitative research in IT and IT in qualitative research, papers are sought from researchers conducting qualitative research using methods including, but not limited to action research, case studies, ethnography, and grounded theory. We particularly welcome contributions from researchers utilising such methods in the disciplines of Information Technology, Information Systems, Social Informatics, and Software Engineering, and from researchers in other disciplines whose qualitative research incorporates software tools designed expressly for the qualitative researcher. This includes qualitative research using information technology to generate and/or collect qualitative data (eg blogs, emails), or which use software tools designed expressly for the qualitative researcher (eg Nvivo, N6, Atlas, Leximancer).

Selected best papers from the conference will be published in associated journals.

Submissions are also invited for the one-day Doctoral Consortium which will be held as part of QualIT2006.

We also invite proposals for panels, workshops, and tutorials in the above areas.
