Griffith University, Gold Coast campus, 3 - 8 February 2008
Unfortunately there have been insufficient delegate registrations for the proposed Oxford Offshore Symposium: Asia-Pacific Series 2008 to proceed, reluctantly the decision has been taken to cancel the Symposium.
Introducing the inaugural “Oxford Offshore Symposium: Asia-Pacific Series” hosted by Griffith University, Gold Coast, Australia. The Symposium is modelled on the highly successful Oxford Offshore Symposium, now in its 17th year at Jesus College, directed by Mr James A.F. Wadham for the past five years.
Bringing together approximately 30 distinguished professionals from around the globe as presenters, the majority of whom also present at the Oxford Symposium, the Griffith Symposium allows delegates to interact and debate with an international faculty of lecturers and benefit from their collective knowledge and expertise throughout the duration of this weeklong, residential event. As with the Oxford Symposium, no more than 35 delegates will be admitted to the Griffith Symposium.
The program is designed to equip delegates with the awareness and approach essential for effective global business and wealth management, whilst concentrating on issues more pertinent to the Asia-Pacific region. Lectures are combined with panel discussions, with each day structured to address particular themes progressing in logical succession through the week and will be chaired by a world renowned practitioner. A feature of the program is the focus on the challenges to protecting wealth and the methods of meeting such challenges, including techniques for international tax planning.
To enhance the practical element of the program and in addition to the lectures/panels, delegates will work in small groups on a case study. Each group will have a case study advisor to work with them through the week, drawn from the panel of presenters. Each group will present their individual case to a panel of judges on the final day. This will be followed by a reception and formal closing dinner at which the winning case study group will be announced and presented with the Sir Samuel Griffith Case Study Prize.
Who should attend?
The program is designed for professionals engaged in offshore or international business activities who hold relevant degrees or experience. It is extremely intensive, hence its residential nature, with the final lecture often being after dinner. Only those willing to fully participate will get the true benefits of being part of this program.
