Workshop organiser: Dr Mike Dawson
The CnidTol project aims to increase understanding of the evolutionary history of the Phylum Cnidaria by establishing a robust phylogenetic framework. Its success depends on the involvement of researchers around the globe. This workshop will introduce CnidToL, explain the collaborative framework, and provide information on how to contribute to CnidToL and what it will contribute back to you and the community. The overall goal of the workshop is to establish new, and consolidate existing, international collaborations by providing tools and a forum for discussion. The workshop will include sections on identification and on molecular and morphological analyses, with examples particularly from the scyphomedusae. We encourage participants to bring preserved specimens, tissue samples, and images. Please read Advice on bringing preserved specimens to Australia (DOC 26k) for more information.
The CnidToL Workshop will be held on Thursday June 28th at the Gold Coast campus of Griffith University. A bus will be provided to transfer people from Greenmount Beach Resort to the University (located in Southport, at the northern end of the Gold Coast). Lunch will be provided.
