Final Program
On behalf of the Organising Committee for the 2009 Gold Coast Health and Medical Research Conference, I am pleased to announce the program for this year’s meeting will include an exceptional line up of plenary lectures, symposium sessions, interactive poster sessions, workshops, a mentoring session, and regular poster presentations. The social program will include wine tasting as well as the banquet and awards dinner on the Thursday evening.
The conference theme this year is Collaborating for Health – a thread that we aim to promote in every session. The vision is to provide opportunities for the academic, postdoctoral and postgraduate student members of the Health group, and our external research partners, to identify research synergies that will benefit from collaboration.
We particularly hope that basic and applied researchers will recognise mutual research goals that will lead to the development of clinically-meaningful projects and create opportunities for large scale external funding bids. The call for abstracts will highlight the collaborative focus of the conference to assist with the preparation of submissions.
As in previous years, all accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings. Similarly, as previously, financial support will be available to Health Group participants to cover registration costs.
I hope you will submit your work to the Gold Coast Health and Medical Research Conference in December, 2009, so that it may optimally foster productivity and collaboration in our work.
