Welcome to e-Agenda 2006 European Forum

The eAgenda 2006 European Innovation Forum is an invitation only event for senior executives, leaders and visionaries in the eLearning, eTraining and Knowledge Management arena. This is a one day event, and will be limited to approximately 25 participants.

Provocatively, the European Forum proposes to substitute 'e'-Learning with 'i'Learning, to invigorate the exploration of the potential of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to innovate learning processes and systems. The themes which can be incorporated under 'i'Learning include:

i for innovative - not reproducing the transmissive learning approaches of most of conventional education and training;
i for intelligent - stimulating and challenging learners' capabilities to learn;
i for integrated - a term that (better than blended) expresses the need and the opportunity to introduce learning in every human activity, not only in formal education and training experiences;
i for inter-personal - enhancing the possibility to learn from and with other human beings, not only from codified content;
i for imaginative - stimulating the capacity of learners to elaborate ideas, scenarios, narrative, rather than focusing on memorising content;
i for inclusive - maintaining the promise that ICT use in learning should help the most difficult to reach to become lifelong learners;
i for international - exploiting the potential of ICT to enlarge, rather than ignore, the learning context of every learner;
i as I - that is ownership of learning by learners and learning communities, rather than ownership by education and training providers.

As always, the Forum will be highly participatory, with exceptional opportunities for networking with key individuals from education, industry and government sectors. Participants will be asked to contribute in a number of ways, and may be asked to accept a facilitating or critiquing role during the course of the event.
