Publications

The Art Association of Australia and New Zealand is the national professional body for Australian and New Zealand art historians and its membership is comprised principally of academics in art and design, postgraduate students, artists and designers, and gallery and museum curators.

The organization publishes The Australian And New Zealand Journal of Art, Australia's premier DEST-accredited refereed art history journal. Distinguished by high-quality editorial and production values and a full scholarly apparatus, the journal publishes up to ten essays each issue. It also includes book reviews and reviews of exhibitions. The journal is published in association with the Institute of Modern Art and is currently edited by a team of Queensland art historians: Rex Butler and Sally Butler (University of Queensland), Andrew McNamara and Mark Pennings (Queensland University of Technology), Rosemary Hawker (Queensland College of Art, Griffith University) and Robert Leonard (Institute of Modern Art). Angela Goddard (Queensland Art Gallery) and Courtney Pedersen (Queensland University of Technology) are reviews editors. Ben Wilson is editorial assistant (contact: anzjournal@ima.org.au ).

This year’s conference hosts will also publish the abstracts for all papers presented and this publication will be available at the conference.
