Art Association of Australia and New Zealand annual conference

AAANZ: Alpha Alpha Alpha November Zulu

4 - 6 December 2008
SOUTH BANK | BRISBANE

Conference convenors: Dr Rosemary Hawker and Associate Professor Ross Woodrow

The 2008 AAANZ conference will be held on Brisbane's South Bank and hosted by the Art Theory department of the Queensland College of Art Griffith University and the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art.  This year’s conference aims to encourage papers from a broad disciplinary base and as part of this to recall the earlier involvement of the design professions in the Association and Journal of Art. This is particularly timely in the 30th year of the journal’s publication, when the conference is hosted by QCA, a studio based institution teaching across art, design, photography, film and animation, and in light of the increasing attention paid to the role of design in the critical and theoretical debates surrounding art.
