This is a continuation of ongoing research into indicators and strategies for success in the early years of marriage. The aim is to test whether the level of effective effort by partners to sustain a relationship predicts relationship satisfaction and stability in the early years of marriage. If relationship self-regulation is important, then couples might be taught how to self-regulate more effectively to enhance their relationship satisfaction and stability.
