Here are some different ways of raising students' awareness of leadership in action.

Guest lecturers

Invite guest lecturers in leadership positions to address your students. Ask them to share their leadership experiences with the students - you'll be amazed how frank and open they will be if they know the audience will be responsive.  Get your students to prepare some relevant questions in advance of the lecture.   You could also ask the guest lecturers to provide on-line articles for students. For an example, the convenor for Studies in International Literature at the University of Calgary asked each guest lecturer to provide an article that could be put up on the course's web page.
