International Master of Business Administration

The International Master of Business Administration is offered at our Gold Coast campus. It takes 1.5 years full-time or 3 years part-time (120 Credit Points), however credit for prior study may reduce the program duration by up to 40 Credit Points. You may enrol in the International Master of Business Administration in Semester 1 (February) or Semester 2 (July).

Program details

These programs are well recognised for the timeliness and relevance of their content and in preparing business professionals to lead firms and governments in international trade and investment. Griffith has a long history as the leader in international business, having offered the first program of its kind in Australia.

Our program maintains its cutting edge content through close alliances with industry bodies such as Austrade and the State Development departments, as well as continuous external and internal peer review.

The International Master of Business Administration program provides opportunities for an Honours pathway or participation in a large range of exchange programs in Asia, North America and Europe.

Compulsory courses cover areas including economics, accounting, international business finance, international marketing, international strategic management, leadership, international business, knowledge management and strategy.

In addition to the compulsory courses, you are able to select a specialisation (comprised of four courses), from the following areas:

  • Finance
  • General Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Information Systems
  • International Business
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Marketing Management

Admission

To be eligible for admission to the International Master of Business Administration program, a student must:

  • hold a bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognised university (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum grade point average of 5.0 (using a 7.0 point scale); and
  • have a minimum of two years full-time (or equivalent) relevant work experience; or
  • hold a Graduate Certificate in International Business Administration from Griffith with a minimum grade point average of 4.0.

Students who meet the academic requirement but do not meet the minimum of 2 years equivalent full-time relevant work experience requirement must undertake a further 40 Credit Points of Work Integrated Learning within the program, which provides for participation in supervised internships. These students will be required to complete the 160 Credit Points program.

Note: Degrees from overseas institutions must be assessed as equivalent to a recognised Australian bachelors level degree.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in International Business Administration program, a student must:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years full-time relevant work experience

  • Domestic student: $28,710 (120 Credit Points)
  • International student: $29,520 (120 Credit Points)
