Master of Employment Relations

The Master of Employment Relations is offered at our Nathan campus. It takes 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time (80 credit points), however credit for prior study may reduce the program duration by up to 20 credit points. You may enrol in the Master of Employment Relations in Semester 1 (February) or Semester 2 (July).

Program structure

The Master of Employment Relations will enable you to develop and deepen your understanding of key policy formulation, negotiation and implementation matters pertaining to the employment relationship in dynamic contexts.

You will complete any six (60 credit points) of the seven available core courses:

  • Australian Employment Relations
  • Workplace Industrial Relations
  • Equal Employment Opportunity Practice and Law
  • Human Resources Learning and Development
  • Negotiation and Dispute Resolution
  • Strategy and Human Resources
  • Regulation of the Employment Relationship

Plus two courses (20 credit points) from the following list of electives:

  • Management Consulting
  • International Human Resource Management
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Contemporary Political Economy
  • Performance and Reward Management
  • Employment Relations Practicum (Work Integrated Learning)
  • Human Resource Innovation and Change
  • Human Resource Information Systems
  • Managing Diversity
  • Globalisation and Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Leadership and Self-Development
