Department of Tourism, Leisure, Hotel and Sport Management
We offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs in event, hotel, sport and tourism management; real estate and property development.
On campus, students enjoy world-class facilities. Off campus, students gain hands-on experience through practical research projects and work-integrated learning programs. Students also gain exposure to real business networks through industry partners such as Gold Coast Tourism, Queensland Events, Conrad Jupiters, and leading international hotel chains.
A quick round of golf to ensure sponsors are happy, back to the office for a boardroom presentation, off to a five-star restaurant to wine and dine visiting delegates - it's all in a day's work for Tourism graduate Deeka Macdonald.
We actively foster a strong international culture, both within the Department and through overseas exchange programs. Established relationships with partner universities in Korea, Hong Kong, China, France, USA and Canada also allow students to broaden their study experience.
As participants and hosts of the Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre, we pursue research and innovation in areas impacting the global industry. And as a eight-time winner of the Queensland Tourism Awards for Excellence in Industry Education, our programs continue to attract international acclaim.
