Work/Leisure Interfaces
How well are current policies and organisational practices addressing work/life tensions that affect individual, family and organisational wellbeing
Structural and cultural changes in patterns of work and leisure in combination with population ageing and shifting family roles and relationships are key issues that influence individual, organisational and societal wellbeing. Key questions informing the research in this programme are include:
- How are changing work patterns affecting personal, family and organisational well-being?
- What significance does leisure have in work-life negotiations within families, businesses and policy formation?
- What are the economic costs of work/life conflict to organisations in terms of absenteeism, recruitment and retention?
- What are the implications of current work and leisure policies for health and equity between different sectors of society?
- How is the intersection between paid and unpaid work changing, and what factors are influencing this change?
