Sport Tourism Event Research Network

The Sport Tourism Event Research Network is a collaborative research network of academics and industry professionals working to enhance the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the sport industry and related sectors.

We conduct multidisciplinary research to provide innovative marketing and management solutions to business, community and government organisations dedicated to the delivery of sport, tourism, event, and recreation services and products.

Our members have worked on various projects developing economic, operations and marketing reports. We utilise information collected from actual participants to provide evidence-based recommendations in three related areas:

  1. Tourism expenditure analysis to measure the economic impact of the event with recommendations for increasing the event’s impact for the host community.
  2. Operation analysis to assess participant satisfaction of event operations with managerial recommendations for improving the event experience.
  3. Marketing analysis to provide demographic, psychographic and behavioral profiles with recommendations for promoting the event and creating sponsorship opportunities.
