Student testimonial

Having completed my Honours course in the Department of Politics and Public Policy and subsequently obtaining a scholarship to complete my doctoral program, I commenced work on my thesis in early 2000. It is indicative of the collaborative research culture of the Centre for Governance and Public Policy that almost immediately I was invited to participate in an international book project. This provided both a tangible outcome in terms of a published chapter that I later revised for inclusion in my thesis, and also exposure to international experts whose insights and perspectives proved invaluable to my research.

At all stages throughout my doctoral program, I benefited from the professional, personal and financial support of the Centre and its staff. I was encouraged to make use of its extensive scholarly and industry networks. The Centre for Governance and Public Policy's association with the Australia and New Zealand School of Government provided invaluable research contacts to support my research endeavours in the politically sensitive area of executive advisory arrangements.
