• Seminar Series - Semester 2 2008 A week by week overview of seminars and topics.

Dr Riccardo Pelizzo from the Centre for Governance and Public Policy and the World Bank Institute will host a Workshop on Legislative Benchmarks and Indicators from 21st to 24th September 2008 at Southbank campus.  The Workshop will bring together international academics and World Bank Institute members to discuss what are the various ways in which both legislative performance itself and the effectiveness of legislative strengthening programs can be assessed. Recognizing that there is unlikely to be a 'one-size-fits-all' framework for assessing legislative performance, there is still much to be gained by sharing approaches, methodologies and results. A particular focus of this workshop will be to show how well each framework or metric works in an empirical setting and to consider whether a new, holistic framework to measure legislative performance can be established.
