Master of Commerce (Banking and Finance)

The Master of Commerce (Banking and Finance) is offered at our Nathan campus. It takes 1.5 years full-time or 3 years part-time (120 Credit Points), however credit for prior study may reduce the program duration by up to 40 Credit Points. You may enrol in the Master of Commerce (Banking and Finance) in Semester 1 (February) or Semester 2 (July).

Program structure

You will complete the following of foundation courses (40 Credit Points):

  • Corporate Finance
  • Economics
  • Accounting
  • Business Statistics

Plus the following 40 Credit Points of courses:

  • Financial Institutions Management
  • Corporate Financial Risk Management
  • Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics
  • Wealth Management

Plus 40 Credit Points (four courses) from the following approved Banking and Finance electives:

  • Financial Institutions and Instruments
  • Mergers and Takeovers
  • Multinational Business Finance
  • Advanced Financial Modeling
  • Issues in Global Banking
  • Credit and Lending
  • Financial Planning

Students may exit the Masters program early with the Graduate Certificate in Commerce award after the successful completion of 40 Credit Points of prescribed courses.
