The Griffith Asia Institute, Griffith University, in collaboration with the Qld State Government and Peking University, have established an agreement to develop a future-orientated partnership between Australia and China. This partnership will focus on how the region will evolve in the next twenty years and how this evolution can be shaped.
The partnership includes three linked initiatives:
- An annual Leader's Lecture on Asia's future;
- An annual Second-Track Dialogue on Asia's future; and
- An annual Emerging Leaders' Dialogue for graduate students incorporating fellowships and student exchanges.
The Dialogues will be conceptually linked around the overarching theme of Charting a Common Future: China, Australia and the Region Beyond 2020. With Our Future Knowledge Economy as the theme for 2009. Events will be held alternatively in Brisbane and Beijing.
