At the turn of the century, we saw the rise of economic unions and how lucrative these partnerships can be. During the economic crunch, we learnt the hard way just how tough they can be. Forget geography, no economy is an island. It takes a special set of skills to engage the international business community and nobody understands this better than Griffith Business School’s 40 international business experts.

Always ahead of the game, Griffith was the first university to implement an Asian studies program and remains a pioneer in the field of international business today.

Clinton Dines
Clinton Dines was among Griffith’s first graduates when he travelled to China in 1978 on a postgraduate scholarship to begin a love affair with the country and a stellar career culminating as President of BHP Billiton China during China’s economic resurgence. "Griffith remains one of Australia’s top places to learn - particularly the quality of the faculty, the intimacy of the learning experience, low teacher-student ratio and hand-picked academics," he says. Clinton is currently a Non-Executive Director of Kazakhmys PLC, a Visiting Fellow of the Lowy Institute for International Policy and a member of the Griffith University Council.
