Get a competitive advantage in the job market with a business or commerce degree from Griffith Business School. You’ll be equipped with business skills for the future and gain not only a qualification, but leadership skills as well as practical experience.

Undergraduate students can fast track into a better position with one of our two year degrees - complete your degree a year earlier than standard degrees and enter the workplace faster. Or gain paid industry experience with a professional degree and set yourself up to be job-ready the day you graduate. Consider doubling your options with double degrees and study two business or commerce degrees simultaneously, or combine your business/commerce degree with law, arts, journalism, psychological science, engineering, to name a few.

We also cater for postgraduate students where you can gain a specialist qualification in emerging and relevant industries in as little as six months full-time.

Internationally recognised for quality

We have international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) - International. This accreditation is considered one of the highest achievements for an educational institution, with less than five per cent of the world's business schools receiving the accolade.

Griffith Business School is recognised by the Aspen Institute's ‘Top 100’ for its leadership in integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into its programs. Our MBA was ranked #26 in the world - the highest Australian ranking - in the 2011-2012 Beyond Grey Pinstripes Global Top 100.

Local and national leaders in high-demand fields

We are recognised pioneers in emerging and high-demand fields both locally, and nationally. Griffith University was the first Australian university to offer degrees in Asian studies and International Business, and we offer the only postgraduate franchising degree in the country.

We have been consistently recognised as the industry leader for tourism education in Queensland. Our Department of Tourism, Leisure, Hotel and Sport Management was awarded the prestigious title of Australia’s best tourism educator at the recent National Tourism Awards. We’ve also been inducted into the Queensland Tourism Hall of Fame, after winning the Tourism Education award three years in a row. And what’s more we’ve won this title nine times in just over a decade.

We have a 25 year history and reputation of being at the cutting edge of Australian politics and public policy research and teaching. Nationwide we are the most awarded Australian University for political science research grants from the Australian Research Council (ARC) and the leading Queensland university with regard to our success with international publications. Our staff and graduates influence policy processes and decision-making at all levels of Australian government as well as internationally.

Strong industry partnerships and an active Alumni Network

We believe that connecting with industry is a crucial part of career success - and the sooner students start to engage with industry professionals, the greater the returns will be. At Griffith Business School we have outstanding industry contacts which will enable you to develop the networks you need to get ahead. For the Bachelor of Commerce (Professional) alone, our industry partners include KPMG, Ernst & Young, CPA Australia and BDO Kendalls, to name a few. What's more, our active Alumni Network provides additional opportunities for students and graduates to connect with middle to senior managers from a range of industries.

Exposure to world class researchers

At Griffith the content of our degrees and our teaching are informed and updated by world-class research. So you'll not only be learning about the very latest advances in your field of study but you’ll be taught by people actively involved in the research and associated industries.

We have been ranked the number one Australian university for tourism research, and third internationally, close behind The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Stirling.

We are at the cutting-edge of Australian research into elite and community sport management and changing the culture of sport in Australia, as evidenced by:

  • our partnerships with the Australian Sports Commission, Australian Institute of Sport, Cricket Australia, Tennis Australia and the Australian Football League and our research into identifying potential elite athletes; and
  • our research into the impact of the new Gold Coast AFL team on community engagement and fan development.

Commitment to sustainable business practices

As one of our students, you'll gain a competitive edge in the world of business after being exposed to our sustainable business principles and a triple-bottom line approach which considers social, environmental and financial sustainability to be the future of a successful business.

Griffith Business School is a leader in management education and was the first Australian business school to commit to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education, and be admitted to the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative.

Flexible and supportive study options

We have designed our study programs to enable students to create a distinctive profile and stand out from the crowd in today's job market. Our degrees have a core element combined with a high level of flexibility. Students can combine studies from different disciplines to tailor skills and expertise to a specific industry.

All Griffith undergraduate programs have an appointed first year advisor whose role it is to help students settle into life at university.

We offer initiatives, like our work experience programs which provide relevant local, national and international work placements which give students a feel for the future. In some instances, students have a job before completing their degree.

Strong graduate outcomes

There's more to a successful graduate than academic ability alone. This is why the teaching of generic skills, such as problem solving, analytical and critical thinking, communication skills, and ethical behaviour are all embedded within our curriculum. As well, students can access additional 'generic skills' support through interactive workshops, individual and group consultations and self-help resources online. We believe our graduates are well equipped to meet the demands of employers today, and into the future.
