Asian studies

Australia's political, economic and social ties with Asia have expanded in recent years and will continue to become even stronger in the future. Consequently, the developing countries of east and south-east Asia are the focus of this program, which is designed to broaden your outlook and equip you for a range of stimulating career options. These could include companies operating within the region, government agencies, tourism and travel operators, education providers or aid organisations. The Bachelor program is one of the few degrees in Australia that provides you with the opportunity to study an Asian language (Japanese, Chinese, Korean or Indonesian) whilst undertaking a comprehensive set of prescribed Asian studies core courses and an optional minor.

International business

This is one of the best-recognised business degrees in Queensland and incorporates many government and business initiatives to prepare you for an effective role in the Asia-Pacific region. Given Australia's growing importance and increased trade in this region, your job prospects are greatly enhanced. You will not only gain knowledge of the major functions of business with an international perspective on commercial strategies and operations, you will also learn to appreciate the social, cultural and political dimensions of global business. By learning one of the seven languages offered as part of the course you will be much better placed to immediately begin work in the region of your choice. You will also be able to use your vocational and language skills on student exchange programs in other countries, or during an off-shore internship.

Information systems

Computers are taking over the world! Well, not quite, but they form the most vital part of any business because they are the core of all successful information systems. This program will provide you with the critical understanding of the role of information systems in promoting organisational effectiveness - the concepts, methods and skills necessary to design, implement and manage information systems. With the ever-increasing reliance on information systems to gain a competitive advantage, it is no wonder that companies place a high value on employees who can manage and improve such systems.

Logistics and supply chain management

Supply chain management is critical to the success of any company which manufactures or handles goods. It monitors the movement and storage of raw materials, maintains inventories of all stock and work that is in progress and tracks goods from their point of origin to the final customer. It's also about working closely with a variety of external partners to find and source the best materials at the best price and maintaining strong links with suppliers and customers. If any part of the supply chain fails, then a business can find itself with a big problem. That's why good supply chain managers are worth their weight in gold. This program will equip you with the knowledge and skills essential for building a career in this area.

Sustainable business

Business leaders of tomorrow should take corporate responsibility and sustainability as seriously as the bottom line. Business now involves a triple bottom-line, where people and planet are important, not just profit. Concerns over global warming, climate change and social injustice indicate how critical it is for business leaders to be prepared for this new environment. Griffith Business School offers a range of programs and courses designed to equip contemporary business leaders with the skills and competencies to operate in this dynamic and shifting environment.
