Political Science and International Relations

Map of the area that asian politics, security and development effects

Political Science and international relations at Griffith is ranked second in the country according to the 2011 Excellence in Research Australia assessment.  Our 40 staff in political science and international relations, and public policy are concentrated in two research centres,

  • The Griffith Asia Institute  and
  • The Centre for Governance and Public Policy,
and two teaching departments,
  • Politics and Public Policy and
  • International Business and Asian Studies.

The Asian, Security and Development research program is jointly hosted by the two research centres to further strengthen Griffith's research profile in politics and Asia, with particular reference to rising powers, new modes of regional governance, and emerging security challenges and responses.
