Sharing the experience of Australian Public Integrity Systems with Indonesia: workshops, Australia and Indonesia
(2006-2007) The purpose of the workshops is to identify corruption issues, formulate corruption prevention strategies and gain commitment from participants to improve governance in the regions. The workshops will result in the establishment of regional anti-corruption committees. A primary objective of this program and workshops was to assist the Dewan Perwakilan Daerah in building their own capacity to achieve these future objectives.
A National Integrity System Assessment for Indonesia
(2007) The team, Dr Arthur Shacklock, Carmel Connors and Melea Lewis and led by Institute for Ethics, Governance and Law Director Professor Charles Sampford, will collaborate with researchers from Universitas Gadjah Mada and Universitas Islam Negeri in Indonesia, to identify, map and assess the institutions, processes people and attitudes that operate to ensure that official power in Indonesia is exercised with integrity, and add recommendations and suggestions for strengthening the integrity system. Australia-Indonesia Governance Research Partnership is funded by AusAID and designed to promote collaborative research between Australian and Indonesian scholars.
