About the Symposium
Domestic violence is a significant issue that presents many challenges to public health, welfare and public safety. The problems that often emerge from domestic violence are substantial and require effective responses across the government and non-government sectors. Effective responses to domestic violence require a comprehensive research evidence base as well as effective partnerships between researchers, policy makers, and practitioners. This symposium provides a unique opportunity to be informed about some of the latest research on domestic violence as well as some of the challenges and latest evidence regarding effective responses. The importance of implementing effective interventions to prevent domestic violence into the future is a prominent theme of this symposium.

The symposium includes several national and international experts on domestic and intimate partner violence. Some of the key themes addressed during the day will include:- Effective police and health service responses to domestic violence
