Careers
As a graduate, you will have developed the knowledge and skills to become a practising journalist with excellent writing skills appropriate to media professions including print, radio, television and online journalism.
You possess an excellent generalist knowledge as a base from which you can develop specialist knowledge and skills in your chosen fields with an understanding of the ideas, problems, issues, movements, theories and contemporary debates in journalism and the arts and the role and uses of the media in culture and creative expression.
As a Journalism student, you should be aware that in addition to discipline-related content and skills, you are acquiring other skills that are highly valued by employers. These skills are sometimes referred to as “transferable”, as they can be transferred from one environment to another (learning to the workplace, part-time to professional work).
