Research expertise

While Dr Abdalla specialises in the history of Islamic science, his research interest focuses on

  • Islam in Australia
  • Islamic ethics
  • History of Islamic civilisation
  • Contextualisation of Islamic thought

Currently, he has twelve PhD students working with him, including the former deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato Sari Anwar Ibrahim.  Dr Abdalla has been nominated in 2009 for a Griffith Award for Excellence in Teaching.
